Climate and Creativity: A Balanced Ecosystem

In May of 2024 Kim and Anne worked in collaboration with the Beaverbrook Art Gallery and the Fredericton Public Library and led a 4 session program inspired by current climate themed works at the gallery. Each week consisted of a specific theme: Air quality, Forest Stewardship, the Water cycle and Biodiversity. Pulling inspiration from artists Tom Forrestall, Lawren Harris, Franklin Carmichael, Kathy Hooper and Carol Hood Fraser, the group of kids were prompted to play across multiple mediums such as acrylic painting, pastel, plasticine and collaging, all while utilizing reusable and recycled materials. The final artwork resulted in a mixed media dimensional mural that was showcased in the Chickadee room at the library from May-September.
