From Harm to Harmony: [IN]visible
In collaboration with the Conservation Council of New Brunswick, Kim and Anne participated in a 6 month artist residency From Harm to Harmony. [IN]visible is the results of our climate action community project. Over 3 workshops, 10 kids explored environmental topics surrounding forest stewardship. Understanding what goes on in the forest above ground (visible), below ground (invisible) and the overall connection and impact a balanced eco system has on our planet and our lives. A call to action was put out to the community of Keswick Ridge to source recyclable and up cycled materials. Working as environmentally conscious as we could, the kids explored the use of many different materials to collaborate on a 3D forest installation. A collaged mother tree and her young, yarn coiled roots, waxed dipped fabric leaves, crocheted branches and mycelium and an array of mixed media critters and fungi, the installation grew. An exhibition took place on Earth Day, in April 2024. The public was invited for an evening of celebration and great discussion surrounding forest stewardship and climate action art.
